Since before I could remember, my dad had always been into photography, carrying around his Nikon with him at all my school events. Whether it be at a small award show or at my graduation, both he and his camera have followed my journey. Naturally, that trait got passed down to me, and I began to divulge myself in the world of photography.
This year, I am attending California State University, Long Beach for Public Relations after graduating from Cypress High School, while being involved in the school’s newspaper for two years. I am currently working as a Photo Assistant for The Current at CSULB. There, I was awarded ninth place nationwide by the Associated Collegiate Press for Best of the Show in Sports Photojournalism in March 2026.
I have also placed 5th for the OCJEA Write-Offs in News Photography in February 2024-25.

Experience
Long Beach Current Photo Editor Assistant (Aug. 2025-Present)
Collaborated with student journalists in CSULB’s student-run newspaper, The Long Beach Current, in providing photographs for dozens of articles. Covered events ranging from university-organized events to LBSU’s D1 athletics team. Assisted in helping the Photo Editor with maintaining an organized system by creating ways to assign photographers for articles. Curated Photo Blast emails to encourage contributors to take on photo assignments.
Centurion Spotlight Photo Editor (Aug. 2024-May 2025)
Helped mentor students and oversee countless photos taken for the school newspaper. Ensured that photos reflected school events and activities while following basic newspaper standards. Mentored student journalists on how to operate a camera and control its settings by creating lessons and assignments. Attended over 75 events during the past two years, both in and outside of school.
Centurion Spotlight Opinions Editor (Aug. 2024-May 2025)
Helped students express their opinions through writing while also certifying that their writing is up to date with other sources (well-researched).
Centurion Spotlight Distribution Chief (Aug. 2023-May 2024)
Strategically placed students in groups based on how easily they would collaborate with each other to distribute the school newspaper. Took on the responsibility of confirming how many newspapers would be given to every class.
Centurion Spotlight CTV News Anchor (Aug. 2023-May 2025)
Collaborated with the school’s Broadcast Media class to create a news outlet regarding current news in our school.
